SUPPLY LIST for THE
SOUPLANTATION FOOD COLLECTIONS
Every group desiring to help collect food at any of the various
Souplantation restaurant locations will be responsible for obtaining/ sharing a
set of the following food packaging materials:
~Gallon-sized
*Ziploc brand only freezer bags
~Quart-sized *Ziploc brand only freezer bags
~Standard sized paper grocery bags
~10-Gallon sized clear trash bag liners
~One-Size Fits All polyethylene food handler gloves
~ (2) 62-Quart stackable plastic containers with lids
(we have found that the ones with the attached
lids that fold closed work best)
~Bungee cords (approx. 5 feet long un-stretched)
~Small "portable" luggage transporters;
“2 wheeled dollies”
* (only Ziploc brand FREEZER bags have been proven
to safely withstand hot food temperatures)
The most cost-efficient
way of obtaining the above materials is to purchase the gloves, Ziploc bags,
& trash bags at Costco, and the large containers, "marine" bungee cords (sporting good section), and
“dollies”(luggage section) at Wal-Mart. It shouldn’t be
difficult to get the paper bags donated to you by a grocery store. :o)
It may work best for you to store and
carry all of your supplies inside of a medium-large trash bag. In order to avoid running out of supplies at
the restaurant, make sure that you maintain an ample amount of each kind of
packaging materials in this bag at all times (we recommend two boxes of each
thing). :o)
Thank you so much for helping us to help others. Together we can make a difference!
