First of all, we, Raymond & Erica – (Helping Hearts) sincerely apologize for not getting back to you more personally and immediately! At the moment, there are still only two of us here handling much of the volunteer efforts as well as all of the administrative duties, so since the news article(s) to which you may have responded, we have just been flooded with beautiful, heart-warming emails and telephone messages from wonderful folks like you who are anxious to lend a hand!

We'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such an enthusiastic interest in helping us in our efforts to feed the homeless!  Without support from people like you, we wouldn't be able to continue or further develop our cause.  Your encouragement and support significantly helps to give us the strength, courage, and inspiration that is necessary in order to fulfill this pursuit in making a difference.

At this time, it is very important that you send an email to let us know which are the best days and times to talk to you directly if we need to, as well as the best numbers to reach you at those times. If you could help us pick up and deliver food to the various local shelters, please include in your email which mornings, afternoons or evening(s) work well with you as we are currently creating volunteer schedules. This way, we can work you into our new volunteer training process. Also, it is very important that we know ahead of time of any other individuals you will be bringing with you, along with their contact information and scheduling availability.

Right now we are very graciously accepting “anything” you can do to help us, from a tank of gas, to the resources and know how to help us form this cause into a beautifully smooth running and resourceful non-profit organization that cares for the well-being of others.

We have much need of any donated funds, food, supplies, volunteers; the list goes on and on.  For the past few months, we have been more than happy to dedicate our lives towards making this cause our full-time “careers.”  However, in order for us to do this, we exhausted our savings accounts, sold one of our cars, and borrowed money against our credit cards, and at this point, we really have no other resources to turn to.

Passing the point of no return with our own resources, we must now either start to receive donations of money and time from others and continue to grow into an efficient & effective non-profit organization, or we will be forced to abandon this beautiful and worthy cause and find new jobs to recover from the tremendous financial burdens we willingly undertook because we trusted and believed that others would see and deem this new endeavor as worthy of support as we have.

The media has been greatly touched by our dedication and great hope in keeping this cause alive until we could find others wanting to make a difference! People like “YOU,” to help us make this difference. Please know that hearing from people like you gives us a new hope and confidence that we truly can succeed, and that we will continue to expand and touch the lives of those less fortunate individuals on a much grander scale, and will conserve nature's precious resources in the process.
